I am so excited to share this Dunleith House wedding with you! There are very, very few people I would leave New Orleans during Mardi Gras for – and the first time I chatted with Carley over Skype I knew she would be one of them! On Endymion Saturday, I left the craziness of MidCity New Orleans and drove north.
Photographing a wedding in Natchez has been a dream of mine ever since I visited nearly two years ago. The history, the architecture, and the hospitality encapsulate the South for me. I love living in this part of the country and I love weddings that celebrate that, and this one did – from the second line to the mint julep cups to the absolutely beautiful custom gown Carley wore.
This greenhouse was seriously one of the dreamiest (and smallest!) places I’ve ever photographed a couple!
The gorgeous invitations were created by MADdesign.
INDe Salon handled all the ladies hair and make up!
The flowers were by Carley’s cousin the the absolutely incredible Katalin Green!
The stunning dress is Liancarlo from I Do Bridal Couture.
When Hudson teared up at the first look (with all the bridesmaids trying to see through the huge tree branches from the balcony!) I couldn’t help but tear up too. Hudson + Carley are truly a team, best friends, and I know whatever they encounter in life they will be encountering together (for now, that means house training a puppy!).
The ceremony was at the historic First Presbyterian Church.
Phat Hat had everyone on the dance floor!
I also have to say – Carley’s family is very close and for a weekend, they completely brought me into that family. I don’t know if I’ve ever felt so welcome or had so much fun at a wedding. The next morning, I woke up at Dunleith and walked down to breakfast and saw everyone I had photographed the night before! It really reminded me that this isn’t just a job, it’s a huge privilege. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Carley + Hudson!
PS – I was so honored this Dunleith Plantation wedding was featured in Southern Weddings!
