When people talk about down-South-small-town-invite-all-your-neighbors kind of celebrations, they are talking about Justus + Anna Kat’s Waverly Alabama wedding! I feel like I’ve been anticipating Justus + Anna Kat’s wedding for YEARS as I’ve known both of them since college. When the weekend finally came, it was completely surreal.
While Anna Kat was getting her hair done I asked her, “Does it feel like you’re getting married today?” and she said “Not really!” I had to agree – I didn’t really feel like I was about to photograph her getting married either! I shared a bit of Justus + Anna Kat’s story in their engagement post (you can also see Anna Kat’s beautiful bridals here) and to see it all come together on their wedding day last weekend was just too good for words. Justus + Anna Kat were married in the church Anna Kat’s family has attended since she was two (and both her older sisters were married there), and the reception was less than a mile from her home. Every part of the day was so full of meaning.
I’m so thrilled with how these images turned out and also so thrilled to see these guys MARRIED (finally!).
The ceremony was at the beautiful Trinity United Methodist in Opelika, Alabama.
