New Orleans City Park is perfect in any season, but this winter elopement is something special. After their quick pre-ceremony drink at Ralph’s on the Park, I met up with Haeley and Michael (and their sweet friend who officiated!) on City Park Ave and we scoped the park for a picturesque ceremony spot.
Haeley and Michael traveled in from their home state of Texas, and it was a true elopement – only a very few people knew they had “snuck off” to New Orleans to get married!
The light was so stunning! We met up a couple hours before sunset which gave this glowy light and also lots of fun shadows.
City Park can be a bit crowded this time of year, but there are so many gorgeous backdrops we can always find a quiet (and beautiful) space for some vows.
Michael is goofing off in 70% of the photos, which I love – Haeley says this is definitely his natural state!
The Spanish moss and the oaks were really showing off for us – I love City Park in the winter light!
After a few photos at Butler Fountain, we hopped in the car and drove a few miles down Esplanade Avenue to the French Quarter – my favorite route!
Haeley was a trooper in these heels, and they were cheered on wherever we went!
Haeley and Michael, your joy is literally photographable – wishing you both all the best on this new married life adventure!
