I was so honored to photograph Melanie + Mike’s elopement on the Maine coast. I usually photograph elopements in New Orleans, and it was such a treat to go to New England for the first time (!) for this incredible wedding.
My Pop of Love business partner, Logan, is Melanie’s cousin and we had a blast doing this wedding together. Here are some words from Logan:
Melanie + Mike’s love story began years ago when they were both in high school. They rekindled the relationship nearly 10 years ago, and have spent all of their time together since. Mike’s job has him leading a project in Maine, so the couple splits their time between the Northeast and New Orleans. They stumbled upon the beautiful coastal town of Camden one weekend, and instantly fell in love with the charming town.
It was Mike who found the perfect setting for their elopement at The Inn at Sunrise Point, and the date for their wedding was set! This stunning bed and breakfast was nestled right on the water, and offered sprawling views of Maine’s coast. Our planning team had very little work to do with views that perfect, but we still had such fun collaborating with the amazing vendors of Camden.
The intimate ceremony was filled with personal details such as the bride’s handmade cape created by her daughter, Rachel of Rachel Detloff Designs, flowers were provided by Seasons Downeast, and Melanie walked down the aisle to “At Last” – is there a more fitting song for this destined couple?
Surrounded by their children, Melanie and Mike said their vows in the greenhouse of the inn and then we adventured throughout the property to capture some of that New England fall beauty.
The photoshoot ended with sunset cocktails at 16 Bay View, and an unforgettable dinner at Natalie’s Restaurant. The day couldn’t have gone more perfect!
Getting to work with Melanie + Mike and their families was truly a dream come true, and while New Orleans will always be our favorite city for elopements – Camden is a very close second! Cannot wait to go back!
