Abby and Joel chose one of my top combinations for their New Orleans elopement – a romantic ceremony in City Park, followed by portraits in the French Quarter.
Abby’s son had the best time in the hotel room while Abby got ready, he probably would’ve stayed there jumping on the beds all day!
I loved Abby’s classic details and vibe – so romantic.
I mean have you ever seen a cuter duo waiting for their ride?
Joel and Abby still did a first look before their ceremony, always such a sweet moment whether you have two hundred guests or just the two of you.
We did some portraits in City Park before the ceremony! As a New Orleans wedding and elopement photographer, I adore City Park for its incredible versatility and natural beauty. With over 1,300 acres to explore, there are so many scenic backdrops. From the mossy, oak-lined paths perfect for an intimate elopement ceremony to the grand Live Oak trees spread throughout the park for portraits, City Park has it all. The variety of locations within the park means I can capture a wide range of looks for each couple while providing a convenient in-city location – the park is literally in MidCity! City Park has been the backdrop for so many beautiful memories over the years. I feel so lucky to work in a city with such an amazing treasure.
These might be the sweetest ceremony pictures I’ve ever taken!
Joel also recited some special vows to Abby’s son. As a stepparent myself, this one got me right in the feels.
After City Park, it was time to head to the French Quarter! Abby and Joel had their dinner at Antoine’s, one of the oldest restaurants in New Orleans and an absolute classic. Before it was time to be seated, we walked the block for a few more photos.
Congratulations Abby and Joel!
