This incredible New Orleans wedding at Brennan’s was not just a highlight of my year, but a highlight of my career. Melanie and Michael traveled from Australia (!) for their wedding here, and I’m so honored they chose to me to photograph it. Melanie first reached out over a year before their date, and although we were on different continents and different time zones we soon struck up an email friendship – I was always so excited to see a new email from her in my inbox! Melanie hired the impeccable Mint Julep Productions team to run the planning, and Kelsey told us both on her wedding day we were “twins” – and I agree! Melanie is a soul sister and I’m so grateful we found each other. That’s probably enough of an introduction (and enough about me!) – now on to Melanie and Michael, and their incredible wedding day!
We started with some getting ready with the girls and detail shots – I loved Melanie’s Birdies wedding shoes!
I loved these moments between Melanie and her mom, Lisa!
The Chateau LeMoyne had the most beautiful tucked away courtyard for all our portraits!
I had to get into some pictures with Melanie!
Melanie is American and Michael, her now-husband, is from London – they met in Australia and it only seemed fitting they have a destination wedding. Brennan’s was the perfect sophisticated yet funky venue for their respective backgrounds!
Doris Ione did the florals – absolutely stunning!
The biggest smiles during the ceremony!
They did it! They stopped by to say hello to the Zoom – such a funny and now essential picture to get during these times!
Melanie couldn’t have been more radiant in her gorgeous gown and overskirt (and headband! hello Kate Middleton!), and Michael was so dashing in his suit!
After some portraits around Brennan’s, it was reception time! The dinner was held in the Chanteclaire Room, honestly my favorite room at Brennan’s.
This was so special (and unique) – Michael’s best friend and best man was unable to travel to the US from Australia due to the travel restrictions at the time, so he recorded his toast for the DJ to play to all of us. It was so sweet and funny, we were all in tears!
Melanie and Michael, I’m so grateful for both of you and can’t wait to see the amazing things you do with the rest of your life together!
