How to Elope at Sully Mansion

Wondering how to elope at Sully Mansion?

This blog post runs down the most frequently asked questions and gives you all the information you need to make your wedding plans at one of my favorite places in all of New Orleans! Have a question that isn’t answered? Drop me a line!

Why should we elope at the Sully Mansion?

The Sully Mansion was designed by famous architect Thomas Sully in 1890 and is one of the most intact “Sullys” remaining in the city. With an 100-year-old oak tree in the front yard, an incredibly gorgeous staircase, stained glass windows, and so much more, it’s truly one of the most gorgeous homes I’ve ever been in. Now, it operates as a bed and breakfast – and you can get married there!

The Sully also provides a small cake and champagne for an after ceremony toast, rentals for your guests if needed, and a wedding bouquet and boutonniere. You literally just need to tell your guests when to be there, decide what to wear, hire an officiant and a photographer – and your plans are made! You can also choose to stay the night in one of their beautiful rooms. The Sully recently underwent a change of ownership and renovation in 2021, and now in 2022 it’s back and better than ever!

What time of day is best?

I always recommend  an hour or two before sunset for the best lighting – the Sully is located in one of the most photographable neighborhoods in the city, so a little post-ceremony Garden District stroll for couples portraits is a must.
