No two New Orleans elopement are the same, and Melrose Mansion is one of the most unique venues in the city! Built in 1885, this breathtaking Victorian mansion has housed families, a brothel (!), and is now one of the most beautiful small hotels in the city. With about twenty rooms, it’s the perfect size for an elopement – and for everyone who travels in for the big event!
Clare (from South Africa) + Ben (from Missouri) met in Shanghai while they were both teaching English. After falling in love in China, they had to part ways – at one point, only seeing each other twice in eighteen months! Fortunately, after a lot of hard work, Clare was able to join Ben in the United States – and they got married!
They had an absolutely beautiful ceremony at Melrose Mansion with close friends and family, and were able to show everyone the city of New Orleans (where Ben proposed earlier this year!).
Melrose Mansion has hosted many a New Orleans elopement, hopefully I’ll be back again soon!
There are so many different settings at the mansion, we took just fifteen minutes to walk the block and captured all these portraits during that time! It does NOT take hours to get photos you’ll cherish forever!
It is always such an honor when people hire me, but especially sight unseen like so many elopement couples – thank you for trusting me through the internet, I am overjoyed to be a witness to this culmination of all your dedication – you absolutely belong together!
PS – want to see another New Orleans elopement I photographed this same month? Check out this gorgeous Ace Hotel elopement with one of my favorite ever second lines!
These are such emotive and powerful images that tell a story of how the day went. Beautifully captured. And I’ll admit, I didn’t tear up. I cried! Congrats guys. Xxxx
